DC’s Post-secondary & Career Education Efforts

Simone Garcia, of the DC’s office of State Superintendent of Education, joined the Education Town Hall on October 29 to discuss her division of Post-secondary and Career Education. Initiatives include bringing career awareness, including paid internships, to DC’s high schools; supporting certification exams for adult students — primarily through UDC’s community college — career qualifications; DC Career Academy Network, and other efforts to promote career readiness for District students.
