DC Council Candidate Eric J. Jones Talks Education

“We cannot evaluate mayoral control [of District of Columbia schools], because we don’t know what it was supposed to do,” Eric J. Jones, candidate for DC City Council at-large, told the Education Town Hall.

JonesIf elected, he adds, he “would introduce legislation and work with the executive to create a panel or task force that does not go out of business,” exploring community engagement on education, in both DCPS and charter schools. This would have a full-city component as well as ward-by-ward communication, so that parents can be heard.
