Please join local members of the Save Our Schools organization and the Montpelier Art Center for a day of “Artful Resistance” as part of the nation-wide campaign that invites parents, teachers, students and all community members to join together for day of art-making activities.
This event creates an artful way to respond to the negative effects that high stakes testing and other education policies are having on our schools and our children. Through various art forms such as poetry and painting, and guided by our “artful” facilitators, participants can express:
1) what they love about their schools and education,
2) what they love but has been lost due to the emphasis on tests,
3) visions of inspiring and meaningful public education.
This event is free and open to the public. Bring your children! Bring your parents! No artistic experience or talent necessary.
